Nominated for the Federal Government's CSR Award
Great news: Burwinkel Kunststoffwerk GmbH has been nominated for the German Federal Government's 2025 CSR Award! In the "Constructive Stakeholder Engagement" category, we impressed the jury with our holistic CSR approach, prevailing against strong competition from across Germany. The nomination recognizes our pioneering commitment to ecological and social responsibility along the supply chain.
In shape. For tomorrow.
This slogan succinctly expresses the core of our Burwinkel strategy. Sustainable, resource-efficient business practices at all levels – this is what drove Franz Burwinkel as the founder of our family business. Martin Burwinkel is consistently pursuing this path as Managing Director. We consolidated our sustainability activities in 2022 and embedded them in a sustainable future strategy. Our corporate mission statement: "For us, sustainable action is not a project, but an attitude."
We live this attitude: We embed it in our family business and in our employees who follow this path with us. And we express it in our interactions with our customers, suppliers, and all other stakeholders.
Sustainability as a Corporate Strategy with Added Value
The German Federal Government's CSR Award will be presented for the fifth time in 2025. It recognizes projects with which companies demonstrate a special commitment to ecological and social sustainability along their supply chain. The CSR Award is part of the German Federal Government's CSR strategy, which focuses on and promotes "Corporate Social Responsibility" (CSR).
The awards ceremony will take place on April 3, 2025, in Berlin. A total of almost 150 companies with a wide range of measures and projects applied for the CSR award in the five categories – good business practices, effective continuing education, effective climate and biodiversity protection, digital tools for transparent supply chains, and constructive stakeholder engagement. The high-ranking jury nominated 15 projects, which were subsequently analyzed through extensive background research with companies and relevant stakeholders. EnBW, Deutsche Post AG / DHL, and BASF are also nominated in our category. The jury selected the five winners in the categories and will announce them on April 3 in Berlin.
"We are of course delighted that, as a medium-sized company from the Oldenburg Münsterland region, we made it onto the shortlist of nominees alongside such well-known, large corporations. This makes us proud, regardless of how things turn out for us in Berlin," says Managing Director Martin Burwinkel.
As part of the application process, short films of the nominees were also created. Our film can be viewed here: https://www.csr-in-deutschland...
