The "Verbund Oldenburger Münsterland" awarded us, Burwinkel Kunststoffwerk GmbH, the "Entrepreneur Award 2025" on Friday evening (November 28th). Following a very personal and appreciative laudatory speech by Tobias Schulz (Schulz Systemtechnik) from Visbek, Steinfeld's Mayor Sebastian Gerohld presented the trophy to the visibly moved managing directors, Martin and Sandra Burwinkel, in front of approximately 400 guests and in the presence of Lower Saxony's Minister-President Olaf Lies (SPD) at the Rasta Dome in Vechta.

The region presented the business awards for the 22nd time, honoring deserving and innovative entrepreneurs at a festive gala. "We were quite surprised when we received the news a few weeks ago, but of course we are very proud and happy to be able to hold this award as a medium-sized family business in the Oldenburg Münsterland region," said Sandra Burwinkel. And Martin Burwinkel added: “A huge thank you to the consortium for this award. We would especially like to thank our employees, on whose behalf we accept this prize, and our shareholders: my brother Jens Burwinkel and Erich Stallkamp. My father would certainly have been very proud today.”

Founded in 1978 by Franz Burwinkel, the Mühlen-based company has been committed to sustainable plastics production and promotes the use of recycled materials for decades. Burwinkel consolidated these sustainability activities in 2021 and embedded them in a holistic, sustainable future strategy (“In Shape. For Tomorrow.”). The company's guiding principle: “For us, sustainable action is not a plan, but a mindset.”

“We live this attitude: We embed it in our family business – in our employees who are on this path with us. And we express it in our interactions with our customers, suppliers, and all other stakeholders,” said Sandra Burwinkel.

And Martin Burwinkel emphasized the importance of the region for the company: “We generate 50 percent of our revenue in the Oldenburg Münsterland region, with customers who export up to 80 percent of our products. Here, there is a great deal of trust and reliability in our collaboration.”
